Weekend In Review – Star Studded Final Tables
You can blame it on the good weather or the start of the European Football but attendance figures were down across all poker rooms with the exception of Bodog Poker.
What can only be described as a bizarre event, the $100,000 Guaranteed Tournament at Bodog had a 4 player increase week to week to reach 702 for this week. Overlay for this event was $29,800 that had to come out of Bodog’s pocket.
Rmobley64 who finished fourth in this event a fortnight ago managed to outlast all his opponents to claim the first place cheque worth $23,600.
In a busier territory, the Sunday Million at Poker Stars took a nose dive loosing 246 players from the previous week. The 6,747 entrants generated a prize pool worth $1,349,400.
Notable online poker player Soren “Kongsgaard” Kongsgaard who finished fourth last year in this event thrashed the competition to land a huge pay cheque worth $158,555.
It was another miserable week over at Full Tilt Poker as only 3,500 players showed up for their flagship event. This meant Full Tilt had the honour of experiencing the highest overlay worth a colossal $50,000.
Heads up play was between “th_IN_kB4Urail” and “JCarver” with the former slashing his opponent to collect $132,788.
Finally after a promising turnout last week, the UltimateBet $200,000 event crashed to 882 players, down from 967 the previous week. UltimateBet had to come out of pocket $23,600 to meet the guarantee.
A bunch of online poker stars made it to the final table but it was “aawwnuts” who raked the final pot to pocket a cool $45,000 for his efforts.
