Weekend In Review – FTOPS VII Main Event
The Full Tilt Online Poker Series VII came to an end on Sunday with the Main Event attracting some huge numbers. The rest of the tournaments did see an increase but there was little to cheer about.
Event number 24 was the Main Event at FTOPS VII at Full Tilt Poker with 4,750 players paying the $500 buy-in to generate a huge prize pool worth $2,375,000. The guarantee for this event was $2 million.
When it came down to heads up cheesemonster managed to destroy his opponent MarMoss to collect a massive $410,780. Runner up spot took home a very respectable $249,375.
The PokerStars Sunday Million experienced an increase of 256 players week to week, with the 7,112 entrants creating a $1,422,400 prize pool.
The difference between first and second place was almost $100k so no deal was made. Eventual winner was kared69 who took home $200,558 for his efforts. Second place went to etushekki who received a $100,990 cheque.
The UltimateBet $200,000 Guaranteed Tournament was the recipient of some good news. The 856 players that showed up represented a three week high for this particular event. An overlay of $28,800 was still required to match its guarantee.
There wasn’t much of a mystery as ENIGMA4U4ME outlasted theinductive to scoop the $45,000 first prize. Second place winner collected $27,000.
Finally the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed Tournament continued to attract low numbers even though the 708 players it lured on Sunday represented an increase from 646 players the previous week.
When the dust settled it was Panicked Vs JohnnyGstaks left standing with the former staying calm to shoot down his opponent to win the $23,600 first place prize.
