Weekend in Review – Back to Back Wins for Chris Vaughn
PokerStars held its monthly $500+$30 buy-in version of its Sunday Million tournament with 2,617 players showing up to generate a prize pool worth $1,308,500 with 414 places getting paid. The last time this event was held was back on the 26th of August attracting 2,644 players.
The final 9 players all managed to take home over $10,000 for their efforts with the top two finishers going away with six-figure prizes. Heads-up saw Chris “SlippyJacks” Vaughn outlast blanconegro to take home $240,633.15.
The win was a rare feat considering Chris Vaughn won the $1 million guaranteed event at Full Tilt last Sunday making these back to back wins even more impressive. His combined winnings over the two evens are just shy of $439,000.
The Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed Tournament experienced a $3,200 overlay as 3,734 players showed up for the event. As always the final nine players were guaranteed at least $10,000 for their efforts.
When it came down to heads-up it was mSobeJim versus moneytree09. It would only take five minutes for moneytree09 to succumb as his pair of sixes run into a pair of kings giving mSobeJim the win and $132,787.50.
Over at Party Poker, 1,483 players entered the $300,000 Guaranteed Tournament creating a $3,400 overlay. First place winner was set to receive $60,000 but the final two played one hand of heads-up before deciding to split the prize money. First place went to bagetak who took away $46,842.25 and second place tibzen received $46,157.76.
