The Great British Poker Tour attracts stars for the USA

Five big poker stars from the USA are now confirmed players in the Great British Poker tour. Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Tilly, Robert Williamson III and Jamie Gold are all competing to take the title of Great British Poker Champion back to the US.

The Great British Poker Tour Grand Final is taking place at the Gala Casino Harbourside, Bristol, from 5th to 11th November 2007.

The Great British Poker Tour Grand Final Main Event will have an estimated prize pool of £500,000 with side events raising the bar to £650,000 during the week. As well as winning a seat at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December, the winner will pick up the coveted title of “Great British Poker Champion, 2007.”

Great British Poker Tour Director Thomas Kremser said, “so far in the GBPT we’ve seen some really high standard of poker from local amateurs holding their own against the UK and European pro-players, so it’ll be a fascinating contest to see what drama will unfold with these star names of World Poker in the frame.
