Celebrity Poker Showdown To Get New Host
Phil Gordon, poker player and co-host of GSN’s Celebrity Poker Showdown, is reportedly leaving the show after hosting 42 episodes of televised celebrity poker action.
As he no longer had contractual commitments to Celebrity Poker Showdown, Gordon was reported as saying that he would be taking the opportunity to move on to greener pastures. Among the people reportedly under consideration to ‘Phil’ the role of host on the popular poker program is a rose by the same name, Phil Hellmuth.
Celebrity Poker Showdown is filmed before a live audience at Las Vegas’ Palms Casino. In each episode, five poker-playing celebs battle it out for a piece of the $250,000 prize pool. Since most of these celebrities are in no need of such ‘paltry’ cash, the money gets donated to the winning celebrities’ charities of choice.
