EPT London – 2nd Day
This is only the second EPT event on the 2007 European Poker Tour calendar but as we head into day 3 of the prestigious £5,200 No Limit Texas Hold’em event at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London we are seeing a cutthroat tournament.
With a starting field of 392 players, and after a ruthless couple of days the field is now down to 40 players as they try to show what they are made of, as play resumes Friday the 28th of September at 1pm UK time.
From the final 40 players standing, 13 of those are online Poker Stars qualifiers with only one player left from Team Poker Stars. That honour belongs to the mighty Chris Moneymaker who is currently in 20th position with 76,400 chips.
A major casualty on day 2 came in the form of Daniel Negreanu another member from Team Poker Stars. Daniel was the victim of Joseph Mouawad from Lebanon, when his 3 Queens run into a Flush to send him packing early on day 2.
The big story from yesterday’s play was the showdown between Surinder Sunar, Liam Flood and Erik Friberg. Surinder Sunar managed to knock out Liam Flood, decimate Erik Friberg leaving him with only 7,000 chips for day 3 and in the process moving Surinder to the top of the leaderboard with a massive 403,400 chips.
